GhostBond Scalp Protector  60ml

The prep step that extends every bond. A moisture barrier that protects the scalp and strengthens GhostBond adhesive performance.

Protect Your Scalp. Maximise Your Hold.

GhostBond Scalp Protector is the preparation step that most wearers don't realise they're missing. Applied to the scalp before your adhesive, it creates a moisture barrier that reduces the impact of sweat and scalp oils on the bond, which is why wearers who add it to their routine consistently report longer hold durations.

It works by sealing the scalp surface, giving the adhesive a clean, stable base to bond to rather than an oily or slightly damp one. In Australian conditions where heat and humidity can work against even the strongest adhesives, this prep step can make a meaningful difference to how long your bond lasts.

Key features

Creates a protective moisture barrier between the scalp and adhesive

Reduces the impact of sweat and scalp oils on bond duration

Improves adhesive adhesion by giving it a clean, sealed surface

Particularly effective in hot and humid conditions

Gentle formula - suitable for daily use

Works with GhostBond adhesives and Walker Tape products

How to use GhostBond Scalp Protector

Apply a thin, even layer to the scalp after cleaning and before applying adhesive. Allow to dry completely, this usually takes 1–2 minutes. Once dry, apply your adhesive as normal. The scalp protector layer should feel completely dry to the touch before you add adhesive on top.

Pairs well with

GhostBond Platinum - particularly effective for oily scalps and hot climates

GhostBond Supreme - extends hold in moderate conditions

No Sweat Scalp Protector - for extra antiperspirant protection alongside moisture barrier

Benny's Notes

All Walker tape & Professional Hair Labs products sold by Liberty Hair Co. have been personally tried and tested by me (Benny) and with clients in my barbershops to see if they hold up to Australian conditions. If you have any questions regarding products, how to use them, what to expect or wish to try something new and would like a sample (if we have it available for sample) please reach out.

FAQs

This is one of the most commonly asked questions we get! The answer is it is up to the wearer. In my experience, tape is easier for self install and removal. Glue is best for prolonged wear (3-5 weeks). I personally use tape more often than glue as I change my system frequently and prefer the freedom of doing so without a big clean up. My advice would be to try both options and decide what works best for you.

Both are water-based adhesives made by Professional Hair Labs,
but they're designed for different conditions. Supreme is the all-rounder - strong, comfortable, lower shine, great for most Australian wearers in everyday conditions.
Platinum is engineered for oily scalps, heavy sweating, and high humidity. If
you're in a tropical climate or sweat heavily, in my experience, Platinum will typically
outperform Supreme.

Yes - GhostBond as well as ultra hold glue is commonly used on lace, poly, and mono base systems. For lace systems, apply adhesive directly to the scalp only.
Many wearers use a combination glue at the hairline and tape around the perimeter of the system for the best balance of security and natural hairline appearance.

Yes - C22 is safe for all common hair system base types when used as directed. Apply it to the bond rather than soaking the system, as this can lead to the hair drying out and rinse thoroughly after the residue is removed.

A typical removal session uses 5–10ml depending on the area
covered and the type of adhesive used. The 118ml bottle gives you roughly 12–20
removal sessions; the 350ml gives you 35–70 sessions. If you're a professional
doing multiple clients, the 350ml is by far the better value.
