1522 Clear Wig Tape - Multiple Sizes by Walker Tape

A clear, extended-wear double-sided tape with a dull finish. A versatile all-rounder for lace and poly hair systems.

Walker Tape 1522 is a clear, extended-wear double-sided tape with a dull, non-reflective finish, a versatile all-rounder that works across both lace and poly base hair systems. The matte finish means it sits invisibly under lace without shine, while the clear construction makes it easy to position accurately before bonding.

1522 is a consistent performer that many wearers settle on as their long-term everyday tape. It is not the softest tape in the range and not the most aggressive, it is the dependable middle option that provides reliable extended hold without the finesse requirements of more specialist tapes.

Key features

Clear tape with dull, matte finish - no shine through lace or mono

Extended wear - typically 1–2 weeks depending on conditions

Versatile - works on lace, poly, and mono base systems

Low residue - cleans up well with C22 solvent

Available in multiple widths and roll lengths

1522 vs No-Shine tape - what is the difference

Both are clear, dull-finish extended-wear tapes that work across similar base types. The 1522 tends to be slightly more versatile across base materials and is one of Walker Tape's most widely stocked tapes globally. No-Shine has additional bacteria control properties and is a strong choice for longer wear cycles where freshness is a consideration. Many wearers try both and find one suits their scalp type slightly better.

Pairs well with

Walker Tape C22 Solvent - for clean, thorough tape removal

Walker Tape Lace Release - if using 1522 on a lace front system

Walker Tape Bond Breaker Shampoo - for complete scalp cleanup after removal

All Walker tape & Professional Hair Labs products sold by Liberty Hair Co. have been personally tried and tested by me (Benny) and with clients in my barbershops to see if they hold up to Australian conditions. FAQs

This is one of the most commonly asked questions we get! The answer is it is up to the wearer. In my experience, tape is easier for self install and removal. Glue is best for prolonged wear (3-5 weeks). I personally use tape more often than glue as I change my system frequently and prefer the freedom of doing so without a big clean up. My advice would be to try both options and decide what works best for you.

Both are water-based adhesives made by Professional Hair Labs,
but they're designed for different conditions. Supreme is the all-rounder - strong, comfortable, lower shine, great for most Australian wearers in everyday conditions.
Platinum is engineered for oily scalps, heavy sweating, and high humidity. If
you're in a tropical climate or sweat heavily, in my experience, Platinum will typically
outperform Supreme.

Yes - GhostBond as well as ultra hold glue is commonly used on lace, poly, and mono base systems. For lace systems, apply adhesive directly to the scalp only.
Many wearers use a combination glue at the hairline and tape around the perimeter of the system for the best balance of security and natural hairline appearance.

Yes - C22 is safe for all common hair system base types when used as directed. Apply it to the bond rather than soaking the system, as this can lead to the hair drying out and rinse thoroughly after the residue is removed.

A typical removal session uses 5–10ml depending on the area
covered and the type of adhesive used. The 118ml bottle gives you roughly 12–20
removal sessions; the 350ml gives you 35–70 sessions. If you're a professional
doing multiple clients, the 350ml is by far the better value.
