Walker Tape No-Shine Tape - Multiple Sizes

A reliable all-rounder tape with a dull finish — ideal for lace and mono systems where shine is unwanted.

Walker Tape No-Shine is a double-sided hair system tape with a dull, matte finish that makes it one of the most natural-looking options for lace and mono base systems. The absence of any shine under the base means no tell-tale gloss at the hairline, just a clean, secure bond that looks as natural as the hair system itself.

No-Shine is an extended-wear tape, most wearers get 1–3 weeks of consistent hold depending on scalp type and conditions. It's a popular choice for wearers who have moved past beginner tapes and want something stronger and longer-lasting, without the shine that some tapes can produce under lace.

Key features

Dull, matte finish - no shine visible through lace or mono bases

Extended wear - typically 1–3 weeks depending on conditions

Bacteria control and odour-resistant properties for longer wear comfort

Low residue - removes cleanly with C22 solvent

Works well on lace, mono, and poly bases

       Available in multiple widths

Benny’s Notes - Walker tape no shine has been personally tried and tested by me,  A hair professional with over a decade of experience and a hair system wearer for several years, to see if it holds up to Australian conditions. No shine tape is my personal favourite for an extended hold tape. Long hold times, clear, matte finish and removes well from all bases with less residue than Ultra Hold Tape. This is always a staple in my personal and professional hair system maintenance kit at the barbershop.

No-Shine vs Lace Front Tape - which should I use

Both are designed for lace and mono systems with a dull, non-reflective finish. The key difference is thickness and tack level. Lace Front Tape is ultra-thin with a firm tack, perfect for delicate lace hairlines where profile matters most. No-Shine has slightly more body and is a good all-rounder for wearers who want extended hold across the full perimeter, not just the hairline.

Pairs well with

Walker Tape C22 Solvent - for complete, clean tape removal

Walker Tape Lace Front Tape - use Lace Front at the hairline, No-Shine around the perimeter

Walker Tape Bond Breaker Shampoo - thorough scalp clean after removal

FAQs

This is one of the most commonly asked questions we get! The answer is it is up to the wearer. In my experience, tape is easier for self install and removal. Glue is best for prolonged wear (3-5 weeks). I personally use tape more often than glue as I change my system frequently and prefer the freedom of doing so without a big clean up. My advice would be to try both options and decide what works best for you.

Both are water-based adhesives made by Professional Hair Labs,
but they're designed for different conditions. Supreme is the all-rounder - strong, comfortable, lower shine, great for most Australian wearers in everyday conditions.
Platinum is engineered for oily scalps, heavy sweating, and high humidity. If
you're in a tropical climate or sweat heavily, in my experience, Platinum will typically
outperform Supreme.

Yes - GhostBond as well as ultra hold glue is commonly used on lace, poly, and mono base systems. For lace systems, apply adhesive directly to the scalp only.
Many wearers use a combination glue at the hairline and tape around the perimeter of the system for the best balance of security and natural hairline appearance.

Yes - C22 is safe for all common hair system base types when used as directed. Apply it to the bond rather than soaking the system, as this can lead to the hair drying out and rinse thoroughly after the residue is removed.

A typical removal session uses 5–10ml depending on the area
covered and the type of adhesive used. The 118ml bottle gives you roughly 12–20
removal sessions; the 350ml gives you 35–70 sessions. If you're a professional
doing multiple clients, the 350ml is by far the better value.
