Walker Tape Scalp Protector - Multiple Sizes

A pre-application scalp barrier that protects skin and strengthens adhesive hold. An essential step for any hair system wearer.

Walker Tape Scalp Protector is the preparation step that bridges the gap between a clean scalp and a strong, lasting bond. Applied before your adhesive, it creates a protective moisture barrier that reduces the impact of skin oils and perspiration on the bond, which is why wearers who add it to their routine consistently report longer hold durations.

It works by sealing the scalp surface so the adhesive bonds to a controlled, stable layer rather than directly to skin that varies in oiliness and moisture throughout the day. In Australian conditions, where heat and humidity work against even the strongest adhesives, this simple prep step makes a meaningful difference to how long your bond lasts.

How to use Walker Tape Scalp Protector

After cleaning the scalp thoroughly, apply a thin even layer to the bond area. Allow it to dry completely, (about 1–2 minutes) until the scalp feels smooth and dry to the touch. Then apply your tape or glue as normal. Skipping the drying step is the most common mistake: wet scalp protector under adhesive reduces rather than improves the bond.

Scalp Protector vs No Sweat - what is the difference

Walker Tape Scalp Protector creates a moisture barrier to improve adhesion. No Sweat by Professional Hair Labs goes a step further with an antiperspirant ingredient that actively reduces scalp perspiration. For most wearers, Walker Tape Scalp Protector is the right starting point. For heavy sweaters and active wearers in hot climates, No Sweat is worth the upgrade.

FAQs

This is one of the most commonly asked questions we get! The answer is it is up to the wearer. In my experience, tape is easier for self install and removal. Glue is best for prolonged wear (3-5 weeks). I personally use tape more often than glue as I change my system frequently and prefer the freedom of doing so without a big clean up. My advice would be to try both options and decide what works best for you.

Both are water-based adhesives made by Professional Hair Labs,
but they're designed for different conditions. Supreme is the all-rounder - strong, comfortable, lower shine, great for most Australian wearers in everyday conditions.
Platinum is engineered for oily scalps, heavy sweating, and high humidity. If
you're in a tropical climate or sweat heavily, in my experience, Platinum will typically
outperform Supreme.

Yes - GhostBond as well as ultra hold glue is commonly used on lace, poly, and mono base systems. For lace systems, apply adhesive directly to the scalp only.
Many wearers use a combination glue at the hairline and tape around the perimeter of the system for the best balance of security and natural hairline appearance.

Yes - C22 is safe for all common hair system base types when used as directed. Apply it to the bond rather than soaking the system, as this can lead to the hair drying out and rinse thoroughly after the residue is removed.

A typical removal session uses 5–10ml depending on the area
covered and the type of adhesive used. The 118ml bottle gives you roughly 12–20
removal sessions; the 350ml gives you 35–70 sessions. If you're a professional
doing multiple clients, the 350ml is by far the better value.
