Walker Tape C22 Adhesive Solvent - Multiple Sizes

The industry's most trusted adhesive remover for hair systems, toupees, and lace wigs. Fast-acting citrus formula.

Walker Tape C22 is the adhesive remover that hair system wearers and professionals come back to time and again. With over 4,300 reviews and a 4.5-star rating, it's the most reviewed product in our store and for good reason.

C22 uses a citrus-based solvent formula that breaks down hair system adhesive and tape residue quickly and cleanly, without the harsh, chemical smell of older removers. It works on both glue and tape residue, on all common hair system bases (lace, poly, mono), and is gentle enough for regular use without damaging your scalp or system.

If you've been pulling tape or scraping residue, you're doing it the hard way. C22 loosens the bond so removal is easy, clean, and comfortable.

Why wearers choose C22

Works on both adhesive glue and tape residue - one product for your full removal routine

Citrus-based formula is gentler on the scalp than alcohol or acetone-based removers

Compatible with all hair system base types - lace, poly, mono, skin

Leaves no sticky residue when rinsed - scalp is clean and ready for reapplication

Pleasant citrus scent - far more comfortable to use than chemical removers

Trusted by professional salons and barbers across Australia

Type II vs GhostBuster vs C22 — which remover is right for me

Remover

Formula type

Best for

Walker Tape C22

Citrus solvent

Fast, versatile — works on all adhesives and tapes

GhostBuster

Water-based

Purpose-made for GhostBond — efficient and gentle

Type II Remover

Oil-based

Sensitive scalps, frequent removal, slower and gentler

Walker Tape Action

Oil-citrus blend

Strong but soothing — alternative to C22

How to use C22 for best results

Apply C22 directly to the bond or tape edge and allow 30–60 seconds for the solvent to penetrate the adhesive. The bond will begin to release - lift the hair system gently rather than pulling. Apply more C22 to any remaining residue, work it in with your fingers or a soft cloth, then rinse thoroughly with warm water and shampoo.

For stubborn residue after removal, apply C22 directly to the scalp, work it in, and leave for 1–2 minutes before rinsing. Repeat if needed. Always follow with a gentle shampoo to remove all solvent from the scalp before reapplying adhesive.

Which size is right for me

The 118ml is the ideal size for at-home wearers who do their own maintenance. It's enough for multiple full removal and cleanup sessions. The 350ml is the better choice for professionals doing multiple clients, or wearers who go through C22 quickly. The per-ml cost of the 350ml is significantly lower.

Benny’s Notes - C22 has been personally tried and tested by me,  A hair professional with over a decade of experience  and a hair system wearer for several years, to see if it holds up to Australian conditions. C22 is rated the most effctive adhesive remover for a reason! Fast acting, safe on skin and a pleaseant scent to boot. This is always a staple in my personal and professional hair system maintenance kit at the barbershop.

Pairs well with

Walker Tape Bond Breaker Shampoo - follow C22 removal with this for a thorough clean on the scalp and system

GhostBond Platinum or Supreme - C22 helps remove both GhostBond adhesives fast and effectively

Walker Tape Natural Hold or Lace Front Tape - C22 handles tape residue from all Tape products with ease

FAQs

This is one of the most commonly asked questions we get! The answer is it is up to the wearer. In my experience, tape is easier for self install and removal. Glue is best for prolonged wear (3-5 weeks). I personally use tape more often than glue as I change my system frequently and prefer the freedom of doing so without a big clean up. My advice would be to try both options and decide what works best for you.

Both are water-based adhesives made by Professional Hair Labs,
but they're designed for different conditions. Supreme is the all-rounder - strong, comfortable, lower shine, great for most Australian wearers in everyday conditions.
Platinum is engineered for oily scalps, heavy sweating, and high humidity. If
you're in a tropical climate or sweat heavily, in my experience, Platinum will typically
outperform Supreme.

Yes - GhostBond as well as ultra hold glue is commonly used on lace, poly, and mono base systems. For lace systems, apply adhesive directly to the scalp only.
Many wearers use a combination glue at the hairline and tape around the perimeter of the system for the best balance of security and natural hairline appearance.

Yes - C22 is safe for all common hair system base types when used as directed. Apply it to the bond rather than soaking the system, as this can lead to the hair drying out and rinse thoroughly after the residue is removed.

A typical removal session uses 5–10ml depending on the area
covered and the type of adhesive used. The 118ml bottle gives you roughly 12–20
removal sessions; the 350ml gives you 35–70 sessions. If you're a professional
doing multiple clients, the 350ml is by far the better value.
